The craft cafe at SCAVA

Nellore has plenty of places to get a coffee. It had fewer places to sit with one for two hours. SCAVA was built around that gap. The room is warm and low lit, the seating is mixed between long tables, two seaters and court side benches, and nobody is going to hurry you out once the cup is empty.

The coffee is the anchor. We pull espresso from freshly roasted Indian beans, brew cold overnight for a cold brew that is smooth rather than sharp, and still make a proper strong filter coffee for the people who were never going to order anything else. Milk is steamed to order, not held in a jug all morning.

The kitchen runs all day. Mornings are eggs, toast and paratha plates for players before the courts open. Evenings lean lighter with bowls, wraps and salads. Evenings are where it gets busy: loaded fries, grilled sandwiches, paneer and chicken plates that hold up after a hard session. Vegetarian options are not an afterthought on this menu.

It works as a work spot too. Reliable wifi, plug points at most tables, and enough ambient noise that you are not the only one typing. Several regulars book a morning court, shower, and stay for the rest of the working day.

Location helps. We are on Kondayapalem Road beside the Bharat petrol bunk, easy to reach from Vedayapalem, Ramamurthy Nagar, Balaji Nagar and the city centre, with parking right outside. Come for a flat white, stay for a game.
